Ratings Review: CSI (Season Fifteen)

It is no secret that this was the worst rated season of CSI. This was also the first time, in series history, that the season finale was not in May. The 18 episode order was the least amount for a season, excluding the writers strike season of 2007. If this is the end, it was a great, long run for the series.

The late Sunday time slot odes not help any CBS series, especially one in its 15th season. the numerous preemptions and/or very delayed start times just sap out any ratings potential. You can see the difference the night make by looking at the January 27th episode, the lone Tuesday night airing. it was the best number of the season, for CSI, and shows viewers still have interest in the series.

Even the Live+7 ratings indicate a strong audience level, with 50% gains in the A18-49 ratings and adding about 3 million viewers to the grand total. It's Live+7 average was 11.3 million viewers and a 2.2 rating in Adults 18-49.

For the season, CSI averaged 8.31 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in the A18-49 demographic, for Live+SD. We may have to wait until May to find out if the series has life beyond 335 episodes. But, we do believe the franchise will live on with CSI: CYBER looking to be a solid addition to the CBS schedule.
