Ratings Review: AGENT CARTER (Season One)

AGENT CARTER was a perfect fit to fill in for AGENTS OF SHIRLD, while it was on winter hiatus. The ratings were pretty comparable and let fans have the same experience, while resting the parent series.

At first, it looked like AGENT CARTER would be the stronger Marvel series, but after a couple of weeks, it settled into the normal numbers for the time slot.

The other networks should take note of this strategy for their shows that take time off during the holidays, and beyond. Keep the brand in the time slot, and use a different cast and title to give the regular series a rest. Six too eight episodes of HAWAII FIVE-O: NIGHT SHIFT, while H5O takes a break, would be better than getting another turkey like HOSTAGES.

For the season, AGENT CARTER averaged  4.75 million viewers and a 1.4 rating in the A18-49 demographic ratings. It may be a while before we here if the series will return next winter, or if ABC will go with a different Marvel story, as the mid-season short series.
