US Box Office Results: August 15 - 17, 2014
Three new movies had wide distribution this weekend, and a bit of an upset, the movie LET'S BE COPS topped the others, includingvthe highly hyped EXPENDABLES 3. The comedy took in $17.7 million, more than matching the movie's production budget.
With the third EXPENDABLES movie doing poorly, we can only hope this will be the end of the franchise. The movie will be lucky to make it to $40 million, domestically.
TMNT was the top movie, for the second straight weekend. The 10 day total take is at just under $118 million.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY became the #4 movie of this summer, with its $25 million take. It should become #1 by this time, next week.
