Ratings Review: RESURRECTION (Season One)

RESURECTION was the hot series, right off the bat. The series premier was the sixth most watched show of the week and #4 in the A18-49 ratings. It was also the top drama in the young demographics, topping SCANDAL, NCIS and THE BLACKLIST. But, this hot start would not last through the 8 episode season.

After the initial success, ratings quickly fell. The second episode lost 2.75 million viewers and dropped 18% in the demo numbers. Week three dropped the same amount of viewership, from the week two numbers. By week six, the lowest point of the run, 46% of the viewers that watched the premiere, were gone.

The success in the Same Day ratings also translated to the LIVE+7 ratings. 18 million people watched the first episode, within the first seven days of the initial airing. But it too lost million viewers as the season progressed. Over 7 million viewers were gone by that low point, sixth episode.

For the short first season, RESURRECTION averaged 9.32 million viewers and a 2.5 rating in Adults 18-49. A second season was a no brainer, but has the premise of the series already worn thin? Will RESURRECTION be gone by the fall of 2015? This will be a show to watch if it is the real deal, or not.
