Ratings Review: GROWING UP FISHER (Season One)

It is very rare that I get disgruntled about a programming decision by the networks. Most cancellations are justified, and many renewals are earned, but for NBC to write of GROWING UP FISHER and keep shows like PARKS & REC and HANNIBAL just get under my skin.

GROWING UP FISHER was a fun comedy. It is one of the rare shows, for these days, that depict a relatively happy divorced family. It is very rare to see a daughter like and get along with her mother. And, JK Simmons is just great as the blind father and his ability to fake having eyesight. Instread, NBC will give more of the low rated "humor" of PARKS AND REC.

For the season, GROWING UP FISHER averaged 5.96 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49, for the 13 episodes, including one repeat. Just to keep it in perspective, PARKS AND REC's average was 2.89 million viewers and a 1.1 demo rating.
