Ratings Review: GREY'S ANATOMY (Season Ten)

The 2013-14 season for GREY'S ANATOMY my be the beginning of the end for the long running medical drama. It has gone from being the flagship series of ABC to just another well performing show, for the network.

The variance between the season high (.42 million viewers) and season low (7.02 million) is not too dramatic, but looking at the trend, over the 23 airings, the numbers had a slow, but consistent decline. Only three times did GREY's do a 3.0, or better, in the A18-49 ratings.

The same decline is also seen in the LIVE+7 ratings. Going from around 13 million viewers and a high four ratings, to 12 million viewers and a low four rating, indicated viewer fatigue of the show. But, considering how bad ABC's freshman class of 2013-14 was, GREY'S may still have a few years left in her.

For the season, GREY'S ANATOMY averaged 8.5 million viewers and a 2.7 rating in Adults 18-49. Next season, the series movie to the very troubled 8 p.m. slot on Thursdays. A good move to perhaps use the last possible ratings strength to help ABC out on a night it could soon dominate again.
