Ratings Review: CHICAGO PD (Season One)

CHICAGO PD is the second series of the new "CHICAGO" franchise, being created by NBC. The mid-season series was instantly accepted by viewers and is already one of the stronger programs on NBC.

Although it only achieved a demo rating of a 2.0, or better, twice, CHICAGO PD is a strong competitor in that Wednesday, 10 p.m. time slot. It did top CSI a couple of times, in the A18-49 numbers. It is a solid second option, easily out performing ABC's NASHVILLE.

CHICAGO PD is also a relatively strong force in the LIVE+7 ratings. Like it's lead in, LAW & ORDER: SVU, it adds another 2-3 million viewers and about a full ratings point in the demo.

For the season, CHICAGO PD averaged 5.98 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49, for the 18 airings, including three repeat episodes. Staying put for the 2014-15 season, and CSI moving to Sundays, CHICAGO PD has a good chance of becoming #1 in it's time slot this fall.
