Ratings Review: AMERICAN DREAM BUILDERS (Season One)

I am not exactly sure whay NBC was thinking with AMERICAN DREAM BUILDERS. I mean, EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION burned out the genre a couple years back. It was almost like NBC gave up on the time slot and just put on the cheapest offering they had available.

Off the bat, the ratings were horrible for DREAM BUILDERS. failing to draw four million viewers for the series premiere. It's best showing was a special Monday night airing, after THE VOICE and that was a disaster. The series dropped nearly 60% of the lead in viewers and A18-49 ratings. And, the boost did not help the following Sunday night.

Four of the last five episodes were moved to the 7 p.m. slot, where the numbers dove below 2 million viewers. it was by far, the last place show of the time slot, and often, the night. This was just a bad programming move by NBC, but that is typical for the network.

For the 10 episodes, AMERICAN DREAM BUILDERS averaged just 2.83 million viewers and a 0.7 rating in Adults 18-49. Let's hop NBC learns from this mistake and will not bring anything else like it, ever again. But, this is the network that renewed HANNIBAL for a third season, with ratings only slightly better than AMERICAN DREAM BUILDERS.
