Ratings Review: DUCK DYNASTY (Season Five)

I believe the tide is turning on the popularity of DUCK DYNASTY. It went from 8.5 million viewers, in the season premiere, to a season low 4.7 million viewers, two months later. it is still a strong series, just not a massive hit, it once was.

The drop in viewership may be from the controversy that started in late 2013. Phil Robertson expressed his opinion on marriage that did not sit well with some people. I am not sure if those people were of the fan base of the series. In fact, there was an outpouring of support for Phil, after A&E suspended him from the production. Personally, I think the series has just ran it's course and is on the down side of it's run.

For the season, DUCK DYNASTY averaged 6.51 million viewers and a 2.6 rating in Adults 18-49, for the ten episodes. We will get more DUCK DYNASTY and it will be interesting to watch the ratings to see if the slide of popularity continues, of was this just a bump in the road.
