Ratings Review: BROOKLYN NINE-NINE (Season One)
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE (B99) was a vast improvement over last year's BEN & KATE. it had a strong start to the season, but it did quickly fall to within it's season average, by mid-October. I blame the weak lead in comedy DADS for turning off viewers in the beginning.
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE may be the funniest new comedy of this season, but harly anyone watches it. it is severely handicapped by being on FOX. Nothing is doing well on the network, and when it gets bad, it hits rock bottom. But, B99 is one of the tru bright spots of the network. There is tremendous potential for the series.
B99 did get a prime Post Super Bowl Episode (starting at 10:55p.m.) in it's freshman season. The program drew 15.07 viewers and a 6.9 rating in Adults 18-49. not a huge number, but when you consider it was the second program after the game and it didn't start until nearly 11 p.m., the numbers are pretty good.
For the season, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE averaged 3.06 million viewers, in 25 airings with four encore episodes. this does not include the post Super bowl episode. The series has already been renewed for next season, but FOX seriously need to restructure it entire line up. The Tuesday night comedy block is not working and all the comedy series are suffering from it.
