Amazon Prime adds HBO Series to Library
HBO has made a multi-year deal with Amazon Prime Instant Video service to add several catalog series to the streaming service's library, including THE SOPRANOS, DEADWOOD and THE WIRE.
Don't expect GAME OF THRONES anytime soon, but current series like VEEP and GIRLS will become available to Amazon, three years after the premiere of each series.
This is a major grab by Amazon in it's battle with Netflix for streaming subscribers. If you love the old, classic HBO series, you know have easy and inexpensive access point for those shows. But, if you are like me, you subscribe to both and have the best of BOTH worlds.
Amazon also announced that the HBO App will soon be available on the new Fire TV set top box.
