CBS Wins NFL Thursday Night Package
In a very surprising announcement, CBS was the winning network to have the rights to half of the Thursday night NFL package, beginning in the fall of this year.
CBS will all 16 games for the Thursday night package, with the network simulcasting eight of the early season games on CBS and the NFL network. The late season games will air only on the NFL Network. Jim Nantz and Phil Simms will call all the games.
The agreement is for the 2014 season, with an additional year at the NFL's option.
The next question is how will CBS primetime schedule change in the fall of 2014?
