Ratings Review: MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (2013)

It was another good year for ESPN's MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL each of the 17 games hauled in 10 million viewers, or more, including the late 10:30 p.m. game on the opening night.

MNF is lucky it does not have as many "required" games as TNF on the NFL Network. Basically, just four games meet that, with the Colts vs Chargers game being the best rated.

Unfortunately, for ESPN, they only had one game featuring Peyton Manning and the Broncos, which proved to be the biggest draw of the season. Plus, that one game was so early in the season (week #3) that it didn't achieve it's full ratings potential.

ESPN is one of the network that have submitted a bid for the new one year, Thursday night package. Of the cable networks, it is the most capable to provide whatever services the NFL will eventually require. Who knows, ESPN could grab another 8+ games and hold the cable providers hostage for even more subscribers fees.
