Ratings Review: THE WALKING DEAD (Season 4 - Fall 2013)

THE WALKING DEAD has become the biggest TV show on any network, cable or broadcast. The season premiere broke record when it drew over 16 million viewers and an 8.2 rating in Adults 18-49.

The first part of the 4th season was, for me, a very satisfying. Only one episode did I feel slightly board, and that was the second Governor episode, airing November 17th. Oddly enough, that was the lowest rated episode of the season.

I am a little surprised the mid-season finale ONLY drew 12 million viewers. I was expecting about 20% more viewers than what was recorded. If you missed it, watch it now. It was a very entertaining and satisfying way to end this arch of the story.

For the fall of 2013, THE WALKING DEAD averaged 13.05 million viewers and a 6.7 rating in Adults 18-49 for the seven episodes aired. The second half of the season begins in February, 2014 and the series has been renewed for a fifth season, beginning in October 2014.
