Ratings Review: SURVIVOR (Fall 2013)

Closing out it's 13th year and 27th edition, SURVIVOR is still a relatively strong series. It ranks regularly in the top 25 each week, in both total viewership and in the young demographic ratings. It wins it's Wednesday, 8 p.m. time slot almost every week and still entertains us with the game we have become so familiar with.

Although I am a little tired of so many retiring players in recent years, the BLOOD VS WATER edition was a fun and interesting spin on the game. Putting loved ones with a returning player created scenarios, strategy and decisions in play, that may have never been though about before hand. This may not be the highest rated edition of the series, but it will be a remembered one.

For the season, SURVIVOR averaged 9.75 million viewers and a 2.5 rating in Adults 18-49, for the 14 episodes of the season, plus the reunion show. Cycle 28 begins in February 2014 with BRAUN VS BRAINS VS BEAUTY, which I hope is nothing but completely new players. CBS has already ordered cycles 29 & 30, to air during the 2014-15 season.
