Ratings Review: 24 Hours of A CHRISTMAS STORY 2013

24 hours of A CHRISTMAS STORY may be one of the best TV christmas traditions in the last 30 years. TBS airs the modern classic from 8:00 p.m. on Christmas eve to 8:00 p.m. on Christmas night. Twelve airings of the movie, back-to-back.

This year, the nine reported airings of the movie averaged 3.82 million viewers and a 1.50 rating in Adults 18-49. That is an increase of 9% in viewership and 3% in the young demographic numbers.

This year, the move was able to grab over 5 million viewers for one airing, a total of four airings of 4 million or more, and had just one airing below three million. In 2012, just two airings drew more than 4 million viewers and two were below three million.

How many times did you watch A CHRISTMAS STORY this year? My family and i watched it four times, but since we have cut the cord, we purchased the movie on Amazon prime for just $2.99, for 204 hours.
