Ratings Review: HANNIBAL
Thursdays on NBC have not been the same since the early 2000's. Long gone are classic 10 p.m. dramas like L.A. LAW, HILL STREET BLUES and ER. But, NBC is trying something, anything, different. But Hannibal is not the answer.
Relatively speaking, HANNIBAL did start out with a possible shot of doing well for NBC, but by episode #3, all was lost. huge double-digit drops took a 4.3 million viewer series down to a 2.5 million viewer series. The ratings only got worse once the regular season ended and HANNIBAL had even worse lead in programming.
For the 12 episode season, HANNIBAL averaged 2.8 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in Adults 18-49. It was as good/bad as all the other new dramas NBC has given us the past couple of seasons, but for some reason, NBC renewed the series for a second season. I am not sure why, but we will get another 13 episode season.
