Ratings Review: THE VOICE (Spring 2013)

THE VOICE is hands down, the #1 reality/talent competition program, currently on TV. It easily out performed both DANCING WITH THE STARS and the old king, AMERICAN IDOL. However, the successful series down appear to have a major problem once the it hits the middle of the season. It begins bleeding viewers.

On Monday April 15th, the series drew a season high of 14.45 million viewers and a 5.2 demo rating. in just a month and a half (May 27), the Monday edition was down nearly 3.5 million viewers and 38% in the A18-49 ratings. Similar erosion is also seen on the Tuesday episodes. Is this loss related to a flaw in the format? D viewers grow tired of the series after the first 6-8 week? DId viewers not like the new judges?

For the spring season, THE VOICE averaged 11.87 million viewers and a 3.8 demo ratings for the 28 airings, 2 specials the series made. Can THE VOICE bounce back in the fall, with the original judges back in place?
