NBC won its 68th week in a row with a 15.2 average rating. Second-place ABC had a 14.4 average, and CBS, 12.4. Only two NBC shows were in the top 10: The Cosby Show at NO.2 and Monday's A Cry For Help, at No. 4 the week's most-watched movie. The network's seven prime-time playoff games scored an average 14.4 rating.

ABC came within a ratings point of NBC, with seven shows in the top 10, led by Roseanne at NO.1.
