TOP 10: My Favorite TV Show of 2017

It has been a very busy 2017. TV viewing has become more difficult as my family expands and moves away from the home station. Traveling is now a big part of my life, to see the kids and grandkids. But, there is still some time participate in my favorite hobby, watching TV. There are so many good shows available and many I have yet to find time for, like THE DEFENDERS, PUNISHER, THE CROWN, GODLESS, and MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE. But, I can save those for 2018.

So, here is my list of ten, no... eleven shows for 2017.

10) THE BIG BANG THEORY (CBS)
Still on of the funniest shows on TV, now in its 11th season, the CBS Sitcom is one of the most watched shows in all of TV.

9) THE BLACKLIST (NBC)
I almost gave up on the action drama, after last season. But, the start of this season has been refreshing and fun. The series may be finding their second wind and could go another 2-3 seasons.

7) LONGMIRE (Netflix)
Great characters and great writing. It is a bit sad that this was the last season of the long running crime drama, but I thank NETFLIX for giving it three more years after A&E cancelled the series in 2014.

7) TRAVELERS (Netflix)
This Canadian production does time travel right. It has a great set of rules and gives it a very "real life" possibility in its tone and story line. If you have not samples the drama, season one is on Netflix now, with season two coming out later this month.

6) TURN: WASHINGTON'S SPIES (AMC)
Such a good rind for the final season and I especially love how it ended. This Revolutionary war drama never disappointed and got better with each season.

5) TWD/FEAR (AMC)
The last half of the season for FEAR THE WALKING DEAD was some of the best episodes of the series and has a great cliffhanger for next season. The original, THE WALKING DEAD, is still one of the best dramas on TV. 2018 has a lot of changes in store for both series, including the crossover of the character Morgan, from TWD to FEAR.

4) SANTA CLARITA DIET (Netflix)
A sitcom about a Zombie and her husband. Timmothy Olyphant is absolutely great and this may be the first project I have like Drew Barrymore in. With just 10 episodes in season one, it takes just 5 hours to binge through the first season, with more to come in 2018.

3) THE AMERICANS (FX)
This past season was so good, that I hate that it will end in 2018. It has toned down the adult se scenes and focused more on the drama of the characters and story lines. I need to binge watch the series before the finale season begins this spring.

2) STRANGER THINGS (Netflix)
An absolute blast. The series is excellent with how to present terror and horror. It has great characters and awesome writing.

1) STAR TREK DISCOVERY (CBS All-Access)
The young streaming service hit a home run with the sixth live-action series in the franchise. It may have found its voice quicker than any of the previous Star Trek series and the production value is amazing. The cast is great and I love how most of the focal characters are not part of the "senior staff" of the Discovery Starship. My only gripe for the show was the dropping of an F-Bomb, twice. STAR TREK is better than that.

Honorable Mentions:
VIKINGS (AMC) - The loss of Ragnor is felt in every aspect of the series.
NO ACTIVITY (CBS All-Access) - A simple Adult comedy that had many hilarious moments.
KNIGHTFALL (History) - Only two episodes in and it has the potential to be a great period drama.
THE MIDDLE (ABC) - The second best network comedy, now in its last season.
