Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 05/03/2017

CBS and FOX split leaders ship on Wednesday night, as CBS scored the most viewers and posted the top numbers in the A18-39 and A25-54 demographics. A weaker FOX was only able to win the A18-34 demographic, a weak after sweeping the demo ratings.

For CBS, the two CRIMINAL MINDS dramas were up over last week, with both shows seeing a tenth of a point gain in the A18-49 demo and multiple tenths of a point in the A25-54 demo.  Both shows also saw total viewership increase, with BEYOND BORDERS getting more than a 10% boost.

FOX was on the opposite end of the scale, as EMPIRE saw an across the board 10% drop, week-to-week. It also marks a 2017 low for the series. Plus EMPIRE can't blame the lead in, as SHOTS FIRE was even from last week.

The ABC comedies held their own, coming in second in the 8 PM hour, but third in the 9 PM hour, just behind CBS. DESIGNATED SURVIVOR was passed by CM: BEYOND BORDERS, finishing third in the hour.

NBC's lone bright spot of the night was winning the 10 PM hour, with CHICAGO PD scoring six million viewers and a 1.1 rating in Adults 18-49.
