Final Broadcast Ratings: March 22, 2017

With the return of EMPIRE to the line up, FOX wins the Wednesday night ratings, sweeping the three demographic categories. The hit drama drew just under 8 million viewers to its spring premiere, along with a solid 2.8 rating in Adults 18-49. That is on par with the fall finale, in mid-December. Leading into EMPIRE was the new drama, SHOTS FIRED, which collected 4.7 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in the A18-49 demo. Compared to last week's LETHAL WEAPON season finale, SHOTS dropped 1.4 million viewers and 15% in the demo.

CBS edged out NBC for second place on the night, led by SURVIVOR, which won the 8 PM hour.The long-running series was the most watched program of the night, hauling in 8.1 million viewers and the 1.7 demo rating was #2 on the night. That helped CRIMINAL MINDS top LAW & ORDER: SVU, in head-to-head competition, something the CBS drama didn't do often this winter. But the good news ends there as CM: BEYOND BORDERS was last in its time slot.

NBC was up and down on the night, placing 4th in the 8 PM hour, with BLINDSPOT, third in the 9 PM with LAW & ORDER: SVU and winning the 10 PM hour with CHICAGO PD.
