TV News Roundup: January 19, 2017

Amazon greenlights GOOD OMENS:
The novel GOOD OMENS is being adapted for the small screen and will premiere as a series on Amazon, in 2018.



More US:
The hit freshman drama, THIS IS US, has been renewed for two more season, by NBC.



More CRIME:
TNT crime drama, MAJOR CRIMES will be back for a 6th season on TNT, with an order of 13 episodes.



Additions and delays for STAR TREK DISCOVERY:
CBS has announced that actor James Frain will play the character Sarek, who is the father of SPOCK. CBS also announced that it will push back the series premiere of the series, originally scheduled for this May. No new date was announced.



Another revival series coming to NBC:
NBC has announced that it has given a 10 episode order for a revival season of the sitcom, WILL & GRACE, for next season.



Bye Crackle, Hello Netflix:
Jerry Seinfeld's COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING COFFEE is leaving Crackle and will call Netflix its new home. Netflix will get all 59 previously aired, and ordered 24 more episodes of the series. look for the change in late 2017.



USA gets THE SINNER:
The anthology series, THE SINNER, starring Jessica Biel, will call USA Network home as the network picked up the project to series.
