Final Broadcast Ratings: January 3, 2017

NBC and CBS split leadership on an (almost) all-new Tuesday night, from the networks. NBC gave us two winter premieres, from CHICAGO FIRE and CHICAGO PD, and a new episode of THE WALL. The Network was #1 in the demos, from 9 to 11 PM, and second during the 8 PM hour. But, NBC is noticeably weaker without THE VOICE and the new hit drama, THIS IS US.

CBS was, by far, the most watched network, averaging over 12 million viewers on the night. It was right behind NBC in the demos. All three dramas were up, slightly, from their last original episodes in 2016.

ABC edged out FOX for third place, but not by very much. FOX gave us the final season premiere of BONES, which was a vast improvement over the former occupant, SCREAM QUEENS, doubling that shows viewership and ratings. THE MICK did grow out of NEW GIRL, which is a positive.

The ABC comedies started decent, but took a steep spiral down as the night progressed. THE MIDDLE tied for the second best A18-49 rating of the night,  but THE REAL O'NEALS barely keeping half of the audience that started the night with ABC.
