Top 100 Primetime Cable: August 15 - 21, 2016

Despite this being the last week of the Summer Olympics, not one airing of the events from Rio, on any of the five NBC Universal networks, made the top 100. The best showing for the event was Tuesday night primetime airing, on NBC Sports Network. That gathered 1.2 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in Adults 18-49.

Your top program of the week was RIZZOLI & ISLES, on TNT. the veteran crime drama hauled in 3.9 million viewers, topping the summer premiere of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD by the slimmest of margins. However, FEAR crushed R&I in the A18-49 demographic, 1.6 points to 0.5 points. MAJOR CRIMES was 4th overall, recording 3.2 million viewers.

WWE RAW was the week's top sports event, averaging just under three million viewers on Monday night. SMACKDOWN was not far behind, with 2.5 million viewers of its on, on Tuesday night. The NASCAR race, in Bristol, littered the top of the chart, as the event was plagued by a long rain delay, and segmenting the telecast.

In reality TV, LOVE & HIP HOP: HOLLYWOOD was #1, ranking 18th overall, with 2.5 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49. NAKED & AFRAID was second in the category, drawing 2.2 million viewers and an 0.8 demo rating.
