Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 06/01/16

NBC takes another night, sweeping the Wednesday night ratings with two season premieres. AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR's two hour premiere drew 6.3 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in Adults 18-49. Is slightly up in total viewership, from last year's premiere, and flat in the A18-49 demo. The third season premiere of medical drama, THE NIGHT SHIFT won the 10 PM time slot, collecting 4.9 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in the A18-49 demo. Compared to last summer's premiere, THE NIGHT SHIFT is down 600,000 viewers and over 25% in the demo.

FOX edged out an all repeat CBS for second place, with a decent showing from the season premiere of MASTERCHEF. The cooking competition show was down slightly in the A18-34 and A18-49 demographics, from last year's premiere, but even in the A25-54 demo and up 400k in total viewers. Week two of WAYWARD PINES is down over 20% from last year's week two of the series.

The week long season of 500 QUESTIONS cam to an end, with ABC placing 4th on the night. The game show did little more than what an encore episode of one of the sitcoms would pull. We'll see if ABC bothers with a third season, in 2017.
