CW Weekly Ratings: January 25 - 29, 2016

The CW aired 90% original programming for the week, the most since late November/early December. However, not all original programming brings in better ratings. The winter premieres of the two Monday night shows were 20-40 percent off from encores of PENN & TELLER and WHOSE LINE? Neither series drew a million viewers and were the bottom of the list in the demo ratings.

The four hours of superhero programming were the only hours to draw over two million viewers each, which includes an encore of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, after THE FLASH. The encore did better than a recent original episode of iZOMBIE, the time slot regular.

The relocated THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and THE ORIGINALS did slightly better than recent other offerings on the night, but not much better. TFD only drew 1.2 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in Adults 18-49. THE ORIGINALS, which followed, dropped 20% of the lead in.

For the week, The CW averaged 1.90 million viewers, a 0.6 rating in Adults 18-34, a 0.7 in Adults 18-49, and a 0.8 rating in Adults 25-54. That is down 5% from last week's total viewership, but equals the ratings in all three key demographics.
