  • FOX resurrects sci-fi series
  • Showtime getting BILLIONS, in 2016
  • COZI TV adds affiliates
  • Will EMPIRE get a new name?

X-FILES returns:
FOX is bringing back THE X_FILES, for a six episode season, with both Duchovny and Anderson returning as Mulder and Scully. Production on the six episodes begins this summer, but no premiere date has been released.



FOX Sues to defend EMPIRE name:
FOX and Empire Distribution, Inc. (EDI) are at odds about the use of the EMPIRE name for the hit freshman series title. EDI is in the music business and has featured recording artists like N.O.R.E and Sean Paul. EDI wants $5 million and some of its artist cast in the series, while FOX is counter suing EDI for the right to keep the name on the TV series. [LINK]



ABC Family picks up comedy:
KEVIN AT WORK is the newest pickup sitcom by ABC Family. The comedy is a single camera production. No premiere date has been set.



BILLION going to Showtime:
Showtime has ordered 12 episodes of the drama BILLIONS, starring Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis. The series is about power politics and high finance. The series is slated to premiere in 2016.



COZI TV adds more affiliates:
The secondary digital broadcast channel, COZI TV, has signed an agrrement to deliver its programing to Meredith Broadcasting stations. The new markets are Atlanta (WGCL), Phoenix (KPHO), Portland (KPTV), Nashville (WSMV), Greenville (WHNS), Flint, MI (WNEM) and Springfield, Mass (WSHM). Look for each station to add COZI in the coming weeks.



Esquire greenlights reality series:
Esquire picked up the new reality series THE AGENT, which follows four "Jerry McGuire" like sports agents. The series is set to kick-off this July.



TLC renews freshman series:
The first year reality series, LEAH REMINI: IT'S ALL RELATIVE, was renewed for a second season. Season two will feature 14 episodes and will premiere this summer.
