US Box Office Results: November 14 - 16, 2014
DUMB & DUMBER TO edged out last weeks top two movies for the #1 spot this week. Tehe sequel commanded over #38 million in its opening weekend, out producing BIG HERO 6 by more than $2 million, and INTERSTELLAR by 9 million. The three movies combined for over $103 million this weekend.
DUMB & DUMBER TO is Jim Carrey's biggest opening weekend in over 11 years, when BRUCE ALMIGHTY collected nearly 68 million its first weekend of release. Over all, it is the 4th best opening for Carrey, for a live action film. D&D TO should have an easy time making over $100 million.
BIG HERO 6 and INTERSTELLAR have big total their second week out, grabbing $36 million and $29 million, respectively. BIG HERO 6 crossed the $100 million mark, now at$111.6 million. INTERSTELLAR is just $2.2 million shy of the 9 figure milestone.
GONE GIRL, the oldest film in the top 10, is still doing well and crossed the $150 million mark this weekend.
