Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 10/29/14

Game 7 of the World Series, on FOX, by far posted its best numbers of the 2014 series on Wednesday Night. Over twenty million viewers tuned in to watch the Giants win their third World Series title in the past five years. Compared to game 6, the ratings jumped over 51% in total viewers and 63% in the A18-49 ratings. Last years series clincher, game 6, drew 19.2 million viewers and a 5.7 demo rating.

ABC did very well up against the World Series, taking second place in the A18-49 ratings, edging CBS. MODERN FAMILY is slightly up over last week's preliminary numbers, while BLACK-ISH posted its best demo numbers in three weeks. NASHVILLE tied STALKER in the A18-49 ratings, and recorded its second best number of the season.

CBS was the second most watched network of the night. SURVIVOR was second in the demo (2.2) for the 8p.m. hour and STALKER tied for first in its time slot.

NBC didn't bother competing against the game and threw repeats of LAW & ORDER: SVU and CHICAGO PD on the air. THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA was new, but was a distant 4th place in the demo, but beat the two 8 p.m. ABC comedies for third place, in the time slot.
