NBC and CBS split the week one victories, with NBC taking the three main young demographic ratings categories, while CBS leads in total viewers and households. But, ABC had a very nice premiere week, showing promise with new shows and troubled time slots.

NBC may have only had two top 10 programs, but the strong numbers SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL gets helps push the average up, pretty high. The game collected 22.7 million viewers and an 8.7 demo rating. Only FOX's one hour of NFL afternoon overrun, did better in primetime. NBC had some nice showings from veteran series, like CHICAGO FIRE, which beat PERSON OF INTEREST in the A18-49 category. CHICAGO PD drew more viewers in its Wednesday, 10PM time slot. LAW & ORDER: SVU grabbed over 10 million viewers. And, THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA is still drawing a lot of viewers, but the demo is a bit concerning.

CBS' premiere wee was mixed. Many of it's returning series still win their time slots, but are down significantly, year-to-year. BIG BANG's Monday Night premiere took a hit with a lot stiffer competition. However, SCORPION looks to be a surprise hit, doing well out of BIG BANG. THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL fell a bit with another major blowout game, as the Giants routed the Redskins, 45-14. In total, CBS pushed six shows in the top 10, and 13 into the top 30.

ABC may have been 3rd for the week, but it has plenty to be happy about. FOREVER looks to be a solid performer, doing well in its Monday night series premiere and its Tuesday night time slot premiere. Tuesdays at 10 p.m. is the same slot that LUCKY 7 occupied and tanked in, last season. The new series beat PERSON OF INTEREST in the A18-49 ratings.

ABC also has a new hit series in HOW TO GET A WAY WITH MURDER, or HTGAWM for short, as it topped both SCANDAL and GREY'S ANATOMY, on Thursday night and was the #2 program of the night, behind NFL Football. The premiere placed 8th for the week.

BLACK-ISH also looks to be a solid comedy hit for ABC, as the sitcom placed 19th, drawing 11 million viewers, and lost just a small percentage of the MODERN FAMILY lead in. In total, ABC had eight top 30 programs.

FOX is still stuck in the starting gate for the fall. The network failed to place a single program in the top 30, despite how well the Sunday animated series did. FOX's strength will be the young demographics, A18-34. Despite collecting just half the total audience CBS did, FOX out performed both CBS and ABC, in the youngest demographic ratings.
