Primetime Cable Ratings: July 17, 2014
Nickelodeon held it's first KIDS CHOICE SPORTS awards program and the numbers are mixed. Only the first hour, of two, made the top 10 chart, but the program as a whole drew 2.3 million viewers. Slightly more viewers than watched the ESPY Awards, the night before. Look for many more KIDS CHOICE SPORTS in the coming years.There were quite a few series premieres on Thursday night, but none made the chart.
USA premiered two new dramas, SATISFACTION and RUSH. Both shows drew the same number of viewers, 1.7 million, but SATISFACTION had a lager A18-49 rating, 0.5 to 0.4. Both are below most of the current USA drama numbers, so they have an uphill battle to get a second season.
Over on FX, they gave us two new comedies. At 10 p.m. was MARRIED, which collected just 1.1 million viewers and a 0.6 demo rating. Following that, at 10:30 p.m., was YOU'RE THE WORST, which only managed 800,000 viewers and a 0.4 demo. Neither sitcom got off to a good start, but let's see if word of mouth will help or hurt the latest comedy entries.
