Ratings Archives: Spring 1995

ABC's top gun, HOME IMPROVEMENT, may have lost the title of being the #1 show in America, but ABC gained being called the #1 NETWORK in America.

ABC won the 1994-95 season with an 11.9 household rating, edging out NBC by 0.4 rating points. CBS was not too far behind with a respectable, but still 3rd place, rating of 10.8. FOX, still young and finding its footing, closes the gap between itself and 3rd place. The 7.5 rating it earned by the end of may was the highest the network had posted.

UPN and The WB finished their short season with UPN clearly dominating the WB in the ratings. UPN's 4.0 rating was more than double The WB's 1.9. Only STAR TREK VOYAGER was generating any type of decent ratings between the two freshmen networks.

The top 10 series for the season were:
  1. SEINFELD (NBC)
  2. E.R. (NBC)
  3. HOME IMPROVEMENT (ABC)
  4. GRACE UNDER FIRE (ABC)
  5. MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (ABC)
  6. 60 MINUTES (CBS)
  7. NYPD BLUE (ABC)
  8. FRIENDS (NBC)
  9. ROSEANNE (ABC)
    MURDER SHE WROTE (CBS)
The 18-49 demo top ten were roughly the same shows, but add MADMAN OF THE PEOPLE and ELLEN, and drop MURDER SHE WROTE and 60 MINUTES.
