What a Spot Costs: Network Ad Pricing Annual Survey

AdAge has just released the 2011-12 costs of a network commercial spot, based on up-front prices. This years leader is SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL.Yes, NFL Football is king. It delivers the numbers and advertizers want in.

SNF just edged out AMERICAN IDOL (Wednesdays), but both were commanding over $500K per 30 second ad spot. Both programs deliver large audiences in both totla viewers and the 18-49 demographic.

The CW programs are always on the bottom of the list, but there were a couple of exceptions this year.

Hotly buzzed, but already canceled, CHARLIE'S ANGELS was getting very little love from the ad buyers. ABC was getting a meager $69k per ad spot. Other new, yet cancelled series rates:

THE PLAYBOY CLUB - $74k
FREE AGENTS - $78k
H8R - $35k
HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN - $128k

Interesting that HTBAG was commanding/receiving more ad money then NEW GIRL ($123k), LAST MAN STANDING ($116k), SUBURGATORY ($125) and even a few veteran series, like L&O: SVU ($104k).
